Ohio Governor — 2026

Ohio Governor is on the November 3, 2026 ballot. A governor is the state’s chief executive. Term length and term limits are in that state’s constitution, not in a national statute. In plain terms, what is at stake is the state’s chief executive: the budget the office proposes and the bills it is asked to sign or veto under the state constitution. It is not a national scoreboard. Control of a chamber, where the office sits in one, depends on every other seat as well. This page is one contest.

The Franklin County candidate list does not include Mike DeWine, who is term-limited, so the office is open. Vivek Ramaswamy and Amy Acton lead a six-name list. Cook’s stored label is Tossup, and the guide carries a Bowling Green State University / YouGov survey. The same ballot carries an unexpired U.S. Senate term and Issue 3, three different questions that voters can answer differently.
